Next door to Ross Motel is the Ross caravan Park and Shearers Cottages. With plenty of level powered and unpowered sites bordered by a beautiful old, dry stone wall with abundant shade trees adjacent to the Macquarie River the park is a great stop while touring Tasmania. There are also five heritage shearers cottages available for those that want a break from the outdoors.
Powered sites start from $34, unpowered sites from $25 and tent sites from $15 per night, with discounts for long-term stays.
Shearers cottages start from $70 per night twin-share.
Please note heritage cabins have hot water and basic cooking facilities including a cooktop, microwave oven, refrigerator, saucepans, crockery and cutlery. They are all heated, however, there are no television sets and no ensuite facililties. They do however have the use of the Amenities Block in the Caravan Park (approximately 25 metre walk away). They are ideal budget style accommodation for families, couples and those travelling around Tasmania.
